Little Garden League

Nĭ hăo bloggers!

Over the last three weeks we have been working away, growing vegetables and herbs, as new members of the Little Garden League!

After a rigorous application process, we were accepted into the club and given our mission - Grow, Protect, TATSTE! Our plants haven't grown quite big enough to eat just yet but we've got the grow and protect parts down pat! 😎

Are you guys a part of the Little Garden League as well? We'd love to hear from some fellow members.

Here are some photos of us planting our seeds, playing Veggie Patch Match, cracking the secret codes and preparing a patch in our school garden, where we will replant our seedlings once they're ready.

A big thank you to our caretaker, Mr Brody, for all of his help. 😊

Shake, Rattle and Roll!

Kia ora bloggers!

As you know, this term we have been learning all about natural disasters. Most recently we've been focussing on earthquakes. As a part of this new learning we took on the challenge of building an earthquake proof tower using only marshmallows and dry spaghetti!

The aim was to build the tallest possible free-standing tower that could withstand Miss Nodder's earthquakes (shaking and bumping the tables 😆).

It was quite a tricky (and messy) challenge but we had lots of great discussions about possible ways to construct the tower and build a strong enough foundation to support the weight of our materials.

Check us out, working as a team!

The Floor is Lava!

On Monday we wrote about volcanoes and it was all about what we knew about volcanoes. We described what a volcanic eruption is like. We all had to use fun, exciting words not boring words.

It was fun because every single volcano picture was amazing and we tried our best.

It was hard to think  of interesting words.

Our next steps are to publish our lovely writing and hang it up and maybe it can go in the newsletter.
