Happy Diwali, bloggers!
In recognition of this special celebration the majority of our distance learning tasks have been focused around Diwali. We learnt about what Diwali is, as well as why and how it is celebrated. We're very lucky to have a few experts in our class who were able to share their knowledge with the rest of us. From there we were able to make connections between Diwali and the special celebrations in our own cultures - we were surprised to note so many similarities between the different cultures in our class! A few of us also made our very own Diwali crafts. (Photos to come, watch this space).
Two of our wonderful Hay Park students even dressed up in their beautiful cultural outfits for the special occasion. Check them out in the photos below!
Neha, Miller Class & Krisha, Hansen Class
Kia ora Hansen Class. It's awesome to see you celebrating Diwali at school girls. It's so strange to see the playground so empty. I saw lots and lots of blog posts about Diwali so I learnt heaps and enjoyed seeing people's Rangoli patterns. I'm excited to see these Diwali crafts.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a great idea we could do it this year :-)
